The way my doctors ACTUALLY started giving a fuck and trying to diagnose me only after I told them I think I wanna try to have a kid (no I don’t) but I’m worried these are symptoms I’ll pass on to my child…hypothetical unborn child saves all!

I actually hate how that works. Or bringing in a man and having him let the doctor know your symptoms and suddenly they think the symptoms are serious

That’s what we had to do for me. I had to start bringing my dad to appointments instead of my mom (who’s the actual medical professional in our family), and suddenly they were diagnosing me with stuff

My doctor was a woman. Unfortunately misogyny is DEEPLY ingrained in our medical system. The way a doctor treats a patient tends to be less about their gender and more about the education they received. A lot of med schools still teach that the cervix has no nerve endings and other shit like that

Yes male doctors for a lot of it however plenty of women participated as well. It’s taught in the medical community very specifically that women are dramatic and more overly concerned and things
