My hot take is that he doesn’t actually expect the worst every game. He just pretends to for the gimmick, and he’s mocking us

He basically sets himself up to win no matter what. When his team wins he can just talk about Duke and continue the gimmick. If they lose, he’s proven “right” and we are all supposed to respect him more for him being right all along 🤣 genuinely sad
