Serious question, what is it about UConn that allows them to be successful with such a vibrant personality at head coach and still have the cbb world not hate them and root for them over teams with way less success? Is it because they don’t have loud fans

History, the fact that even tho their conference is fcs but they can still compete with the blue bloods of basketball

We are hated pretty intensely— not as a program but mainly just cuz of our coach. I think it’s because we aren’t a traditional blue blood both institutionally and as a fan base. Far more blue collar/scrappy.

Also our fans are loud, there is just less of them than any P4 program.

I also think the idea of a small state with no real sports presence having such a dominant college basketball legacy
