My hot take is that every season of CFB is strange, it’s just recency bias makes us forget the smaller strange things that made other seasons just as strange
The start of one of the strangest CFB seasons ever.

For the most part agree but 2007 and last year were special in terms of the things that happened. It’s rare an undefeated regulars szn/ acc champ goes 2-10 the next szn. Vanderbilt beat god damn bama. We had more stormed fields than usual, a two loss national champion who found a way to torch everyone in the post season.

Nah, in hindsight this could be considered the biggest cfb upset ever. NIU completely fell apart after this and ND almost won the natty

dawg we just don't get seasons like this every year, there was upset after upset and the new playoff format being no-mans land just added to the memorability. no one was safe and no one knew where they'd land, your take's not 'hot' it's just incorrect.

completely fell apart feels like a bit of an exaggeration, they went 8-5 with a bowl win. still up there in terms of upsets, but they could've made it a lot harder for ND to get back into playoff talks

Respectfully, the games they lost were to some bad teams. Imagine beating the second best team in the country at home and then going 4-4 in the MAC.
