If 2004 USC, 2018 Clemson, 2019 LSU, etc, etc had played every regular season game vs Sun Belt teams (or any smaller D1 conference) does thar make the team somehow less good? Are the players individually lesser somehow? Would they not be the same team?

Yes, this does make the team less good. Because their talent was never tested. You can’t find out any of the team’s weaknesses if they play shitty teams, and ultimately you can’t find individual players’ strengths/weaknesses if they don’t have any real competition.

Nah Joe Burrow is still Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase is still Ja’Marr Chase, JJettas is still JJettas.

Would Joe Burrow have been as good if he wasn’t tested and put into stressful situations in games? Against good teams? Same thing goes with the other players. If these players played cupcake schedules throughout their whole career they’re simply not as valued, because they were never truly tested.

Okay they still would have gone to the nfl they still would have balled out like literally you’re trying to make a hypothetical that’s pointless there’s no reason to think that fucking a Tua led Bama squad is the reason Burrow and Chase and Jefferson turned out the way they did. It’s a pointless hypothetical.

We saw this with TCU’s Max Duggan in the CFB Championship a few years ago. He was just so so good up until he faced actual competition, and that ultimately screwed his potential NFL career.

Alright if you were to watch an offensive player’s highlights would it be more impressive if they played a good defense or if they played a bad defense.

Saying Joe Burrow would end up like Max Duggan is a crazy hypothetical
