Still tells me exactly what I said. Development means a lot more than recruiting. Ohio State recruited Quin Ewers, he didn’t stay. Georgia recruited Justin Fields, he didn’t stay. Alabama was in the top 4 the last 5 years, didn’t make the playoffs last year, barely did this year, and haven’t won a title in 5 years.

Actually yes, Michigan - but I’m sure we’d both agree that they cheated. I did see plenty of top 10 teams that didn’t even make the playoffs. Why? Because recruiting doesn’t mean as much unless you can coach and develop them. Without development, they stay at a high school level their whole college career.

I still stand by my point and I’m sure I won’t convince you but the last thing I’ll say is what do Baker Mayfield, Troy Smith, and Johnny Manziel all have in common? Answer: they were all 3-star recruits that were developed into Heismans. Mahomes was a 3-star. Brady was a 3-star. Lamar Jackson was a 3-star. Stars are their high school talent level, not their career-long talent level. They don’t become Heismans and Hall of Famers without development.
