As someone who also goes to Bama I’ve yet to meet someone who is actually from the south that is racist. Everyone who I have encountered that has been racist has been from the north. Specifically from around New Jersey. Like they think it’s totally fine and they also try and have a fake southern accent which is annoying

I remember asking someone online from like tennessee what their methods of identifying northerners who'd moved there was(it was under a post talking about this phenomenon) and they said something similar, so yeah I guess throughout the deep south in general people will move there expecting their bigotry to just go tolerated

That makes sense to me. As someone who lives in New England every racist person I know fantasizes about moving to the south but everyone I actually know from the south isn’t like that at all
