I’m I crazy to think that the Big 12 is in the basement when it comes to the Power 4 Conferences?

They’re in the basement, but at least they aren’t stuck in the shed outside like the ACC

A bit of an overreaction so yes

no, that's like a pretty valid take all things considered

I wouldn’t say basement. They have a lot of parity and end up beating up on each other. Wouldn’t mind seeing their top two teams make the playoff and see how they fare.

Maybe at the top, but certainly not in depth

you can say that off of recently but the ACC has been the 2nd and some years the #1 conference defensively for a while, ACC def struggled offensively for the majority but the CFP stats show defense>offense, while the big 12 has always had no defense and good offense which never amounted to anything being 1-7 in the CFP

Thats fair, I really only diss the ACC because they’ve got a crisis on their hands with both conference payouts and their best schools threatening to leave. With what they’ve become after Texas and OU left the Big XII, they’ve lost the prestige that they’ve built up. I get why some would say that the Big XII is a weaker conference, but they managed to survive realignment with the deck stacked against them, and I don’t see the ACC doing the same

Besides, a Lincoln Riley defense isn’t winning in the CFP. There’s a reason why the sole win the Big XII had from the playoffs wasn’t from Oklahoma or Texas

I mean in the last 10 years none of the best defenses from the big 12 none of the are OU or Texas

Also true Damn, maybe the Big XII is the one that was historically stuck in the shed? Rough day for the XII glazers

I mean ASU came in and took over that bitch 😂. Seriously the teams either had really good offenses or good defenses. ASU might have been the most level team to win the conference in at least 10 years

But I feel like teams have caught on that they have to actually do the recruiting to win games outside of conference play. Idk I like Yosmark he seems to be the most competent commissioner

It looks like more teams in the conference are trending that direction. ISU had a good defense paired with star wide receivers before their entire linebacker squad got injured by week 8, K-State had the promising rookie quarterback with a good enough defense to shut down the Heisman winner (same with BYU), and of course there’s ASU. It’ll take playoff wins from the conference for perception to change of course, but I have hope that the optional defense era of the conference is over

Without Yormark the Big XII would’ve collapsed by the time Texas and Oklahoma left, he saved the conference with what he did

Oh for sure they got lucky with the 4 G5 schools and the PAC-12 schools. Tech, Utah, and as an OSU fan could all look to be good. He seems to be happy to expand and grow the conference and innovate.
