Miami will probably be 9-3 by the end of the regular season next year, but their losses will be at the start of the year rather than the end this time around. Notre Dame and Florida are both likely L’s, but they could totally back their way into the ACC title game next year with their somewhat easy conference slate. So long as they don’t drop against the mid tier teams, they’ll be in the thick of it for the ACC

I see L’s to ND and UF then a conference slip up along the way probably to SMU or Louisville

Miami will likely lose 2 in the non-conference, followed by a loss to Louisville and/or @ SMU, then drop 1-2 additional games in November (Syracuse, NC State, @ VT, @ Pitt). Those last 2 road games in particular feel like trap games. I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish either 6-6 or 7-5 after being pre-season ranked top 15. Seems to be the story almost every year with the Canes.

They will then proceed to play the likes of Rutgers or Louisiana Tech in their bowl game and lose.

Everything I say with Miami is under the assumption they don’t choke away their aspirations in games they have no business losing. On paper, they should be in the thick of it for ACC title contention given the competition they face after Louisville and that they fired the Defensive Coordinator that made them miss the playoffs last year. However, this is still Miami we’re talking about, so a falloff isn’t out of the question. I suppose we will see in due time what will happen with this team.
