Because people already empathize with victims of school shootings. For whatever reason, a lot of people don’t extend that same empathy to a victim of gun violence whose opinions they disagree with. That’s why it’s being pointed out

Empathy doesn’t do anything if people continue to vote for people who don’t do anything about it. Empathy’s awesome, but pair it with meaningful action. Otherwise, it’s virtue signaling

That’s great and all, but if you’re going to complain about voting for certain politicians, why have the ones who are against 2A and pushing to stop gun violence also accomplishing nothing? Hold them accountable too instead of giving them a pass for just saying they’ll do something for decades but never actually doing it
