People who say you can’t be a fan of a school if you didn’t go there. Really? Not everyone can afford to pay 50k a year let alone even go to college. You are beyond blessed to be able to attend the school of your choosing, be thankful not hateful

I would also like to add to this point. Why would someone that wants to work in a field that doesn’t require a degree want to get a degree or why go to a school that isn’t the best at what you are wanting to do. I will not go to Central Michigan to be a lawyer if I Harvard is on the phone

Harvard is still a top school for law and to your second comment with a Harvard degree you are more likely to get a top job in the law field as most of the top law firms will only hire from Ivy League’s

Technically it still is a top school for law but the quality of education has decreased significantly. This is a commonly known fact

Also the IVY league alumni network is beginning to crumble

Not in the law department which my comment was stating I would go to the top school if available over my favorite. I used law as an example. They are still a top law school. It’s kinda like wanting to major in ag but I went to OU instead of Oklahoma state. The example of Law most of the Ivy league’s are the top and still get you a better chance as they are the harder to get the degree in. I cant speak on their basket weaving or other degrees

But my point boils down it would be idiotic to go to a school that isn’t in the top 50 of a field over a school that is.

I’d personally still consider the cost. If you could go to central Michigan for free or Harvard for 50k a year would that swing your mind at all

I guess it wasn’t a great example but I was also using the idea that you’d have scholarships to assist with such an issue
