If Malachi toney won b2b nattys and biletnkoffs and got a heisman the next two years should he get his jersey retired? Or are you against jersey retirements as a whole?

I’m 50/50 on jersey retirements. I do like the idea of it but a player would have to be instrumental in their programs history That being said Michael Irving probably has the best case against jersey retirements

Agreed, what do you think about hunter and sanders? I think sanders getting his retired is an absolute joke because he didn’t implement anything huge on the program. But I think it’s somewhat valid to retire hunters for winning a heisman playing both sides, whether you believe he deserved it or not.

Sanders is probably the dumbest jersey retirement I’ve seen in nearly 20 years of watching sports Hunter is a weird case. On one hand he’s the schools biggest recruit, led them to highs Colorado hadn’t seen since the 90s, and won the Heisman (Jeanty should’ve won tho imo) as a 2 way player. Buuuuuut for some reason it just… doesn’t feel like enough. He just wasn’t the legendary figure that other players are to other programs

If anything if I was CU I’d retire his jersey at least a decade or two after his tenure there. Depends on his pro career because him getting drafted that high factors into how CU got viewed afterwards

I agree jeanty deserved it but I do think Hunter deserves his jersey retired, colorado will never have a 2 way guy like him again or probably another heisman again like him in our lifetime.

Agreed. I just don’t like the immediateness of it. I get it CU isn’t a team like Bama, OSU, Clemson, or Oregon so they rarely get players of that caliber but it’s just tacky. At least give Hunter a few years in the league before you retire it

I feel you but also if hunter were to turn out a huge bust it would look bad on colorado’s part retiring his jersey, like imagine jamarcus russell got his jersey retired from LSU after he retired from the NFL😂

Maybe but if BSU is to retire any number it’d be Kellen Moore
