they get a LOT of nil funding and dan lanning is the nick saban of james franklins so they usually have overall successful seasons just to choke later on

They’ve done well. This year they are shit. We also don’t *really* know how good Big 10 teams are cus they rarely challenge themselves until the post season.

Also, them losing to OSU is significant. OSU last year only won their first game, and this year they’ve already lost against a shit Tulsa. Oregon is likely to go unranked after this.

also look at the teams that were ranked in the top 4 prior to week 1, they're all returning a starting qb who had great production in the system last year(saiyan, moore, stockton, carr), the ap highly ranks that regardless of how valid it might actually be or not

being ranked 5th in the country and winning two playoff games, one of which being a shutout against a p4 conference champ, with your only two losses on the season being to the eventual national championship would count as a fairly successful season yes

Again, their only success are im the playoffs. If they go 10-2 that sounds amazing, but that really doesn’t mean anything in their conference when they only play 3 or 4 hard games.
