Or beat 4-8 Florida…. lmao it’s so funny y’all keep blaming that one game instead of the extremely beatable team that didn’t even make a bowl game. Such a cowardly mindset but I wouldn’t expect anything less from the team that’s always declared preseason number one and celebrated winning the Cheez-Itz Bowl

The definitely should have beat Florida. But teams lose to teams they should have on a pretty regular basis. There was a playoff team with an even worse loss (bama to fsu). If they continue to go down the road of penalizing for scheduling elite teams I guarantee you won’t like the results it has for the sport as a whole

I bet you creamed yourself when you saw Indiana cancel all of their tough out-of-conference games. Games like UT-OSU are good for college football, and you shouldn’t be heavily penalized for playing in those while having 8 (now 9) conference opponents.

Yes, they are great, and I think anyone who cancels them is a complete coward. Newsflash, you get punished for losing no matter who you play. Blaming it on it being an out of conference game is the craziest cope I’ve ever seen, and again you were penalized for losing to 4-8 Florida not Ohio State. Y’all dropped from number 1 to number 7 after the Ohio State game, it wasn’t until you lost to Florida that you completely plummeted 😭

This would be a good argument if Texas was 10-2 and kept out of the playoffs for losing to Ohio State. But that whole argument is void because they went 9-3 and lost to Florida. I genuinely don’t even understand what the argument is, should the committee have ignored the Florida game and let Texas into the playoffs because they played a good team and lost? I don’t understand why it’s always blamed on the Ohio State loss when they would’ve easily been in the playoffs if they beat 4-8 Florida

The fact is we didn’t have to schedule a tough out of conference game (against the reigning national champs btw) and if we hadn’t then we certainly would have made the playoffs regardless of Florida outcome. I don’t think it is good precedent to punish teams for playing tough schedules. We also beat OU, TAMU, & Vandy—who did Miami beat (besides ND)? who did ND beat? who did BYU beat?
