It’s James Franklin 1000%. Notre Dame couldn’t win a big game for like 15 years with Brian Kelly and Freeman comes in and wins 3 playoff games his 3rd year. It’s coaching I have no idea why he hasn’t been fired yet.
Penn State’s issue was not letting Beau walk - we’d be in the same situation rn if we chose Beau over Drew. Penn State’s issue is not being able to develop a QB which is why we lose every big game

Penn State doesn't exactly have a guy like Freeman lying around to turn to

True, but at some point you have to say that enough is enough and give another guy a shot. Unless they’re content with winning 9+ games a year and getting embarrassed in the big ones. It’s tough cause I don’t see Franklin leaving on his own like Kelly did.

They would have to hire externally for sure. The hard part is that his teams give the athletic department so much of a sign of hope every time they play a big game, that I don't think they'll take any action. For example last night, with that 4Q and OT, where the last two plays (whiffed sack leading to a TD and then the pick) were all that sold the game, I don't think they're gonna take action

Plus the fact that his contract goes into next decade, it's really hard to get rid of him
