The only people I see saying “SEC” over and over are fans in other conferences. It’s a stupid chant. Because conference fanboying is stupid.

go watch the 2023 peach bowl. PSU Ole Miss. Ole Miss wins, they don’t chant “rebs” or “hotty toddy” or the million other things they could. They chant “SEC” for 3 quarters straight.

Watch the 2022 peach bowl. Georgia beats an actual contender from the B1G and not a singular chant of “SEC” happened. Because it’s a dumb fucking chant.

So the media wasn’t dick riding the sec when they kept Tennessee and Missouri ranked for the majority of the season and treated them as good wins for Alabama, Georgia, and Vanderbilt? CFB media, this yak, etc. absolutely glazes the sec. That’s not saying there aren’t good teams in the sec and that there aren’t talented rosters. But the way people like you act like sec bias doesn’t exist is either just willful ignorance or pure cognitive dissonance.

And a simple google search shows that fans of sec teams commonly chant “sec!” Like google is free. Hell ESPN did a whole thing on the history of the “sec!” Chant. There’s no reason to be so dishonest my man just own it.

The “SEC” chant, along with the “just means more” thing, is used FAR more often by people denigrating the SEC. And yes SEC bias exists. My comment was specifically about the SEC chant. And yes, the people that dickride the SEC the most are the ones that hold onto the victimhood complex about way the SEC gets treated.

It’s funny you say that only victims meat ride the sec when you completely ignore that it’s ppl just taking a victory lap because CFB media still treats the sec like a god tier conference. Just to turn around and say “sec chants are mostly just used by ppl with victim complex’s” it’s almost like what you reduce to a “victim complex” is born out of the fact that mid tier sec schools like Tennessee and Missouri are treated like resume boosts while OSU and Indiana get clowned on for claiming Illinois as a good victory. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Dickriding, in this case, is spending mental energy on a topic. And no one spends more mental energy thinking about the SEC than a salty fan of a B1G school.

It’s 9 am and I’m literally just doom scrolling on yak this is not me using “a lot of mental energy” this is me being bored and filling the time until my day starts 😂. And again it’s almost like fans of Big10 teams take such a victory lap because the whole season we are bombarded with “mid tier sec teams would run any other conference.” Again when Tennessee and Missouri get treated as resume boosts but Illinois and Virginia get treated as a laughing stock yeah time to make others eat crow.
