I am patiently waiting for someone to explain why cheering for my conference is a bad thing. I want my conference to win out of conference because I want my conference to be the best. Why is this a problem?

It’s the same thing as “oh I hate this guy but now we can tolerate each other and I hope he does well” like is that not a bad thing?

Personally as a bama fan I will never root for Tennessee or Auburn under any circumstances The bama Georgia rivalry is different Because i respect Georgia (as players not as fans the barking is goofy) but they have come the closest to knowing what it’s like to be us, and i respect that they have built a good program but there’s no way in hell you’re gonna catch me excitedly rooting for my rivals like ever

I also am a Bama fan, from Tennessee unfortunately, and despite the fact that I Hate Tennessee, I still would’ve rather seen Tennessee beat Illinois yesterday, not because I like Tennessee, but because I want our wins on the 3rd Saturday of October to mean something. If Tennessee continues to lose out of conference games, and even against bottom SEC teams, it takes away from the gravity of the 3rd Saturday.
