This comment section goes to show you can’t please everyone You can care about Lacy’s mental health and people blast you for not being sensitive to the victims family But by showing sensitivity to the victims family in the way everyone is demanding it, it by definition ignores Lacy’s struggles with the aftermath
Do you legitimately think there is a world his lawyer would say “he is guilty”? How about you look up how many cases that lawyer has lost, how many times has that lawyer said “my client is innocent” and been wrong. Their entire job is to defend their clients no matter what they did
We can care about his mental health without putting him up on a banner as an advocate for mental health month. Im not saying he didnt deserve help, but you can help people while still disclosing the fact that they are an alleged felon and were charged with homicide at the time of their death
Plenty of other people have committed suicide in college football in recent years or have had other mental health struggles. But if you gotta insist on picking the one alleged to have committed homicide without giving any acknowledgement even to the other person who died then go ahead, but thats on you. Dont come down here in the comments and try and accuse me of not caring.
Again you CAN pick whoever you want. But if you pick someone alleged of felony homicide and dont disclose that, other people CAN call you out on that, and point out that while Kyren Lacy unfortunately chose to commit suicide, 78 year old Herman Hall didnt have a choice. Mental health aint pretty, but respecting mental health doesnt mean ignoring a persons crimes and disrespecting a dead man and his family.
I disagree with the third part, you can absolutely talk about Lacy’s mental health struggles and how they led to his death while still mentioning the man who died in the car crash. If anything I’d argue it is more ignorant not to mention the event that caused his mental health to decline
