They absolutely got a free one; they stopped the delay of game penalty for free as well; might’ve changed the play call and they might’ve missed the third down

Kirby called timeout. He wanted Auburn to get delay of game because their defenders were clapping. “They can’t clap!” he kept telling the official. Official got confused by this, thought Kirby said HE was clapping, and reversed the timeout call. Unprecedented. Broadcast booth assumed Kirby said he didn’t call timeout. Horrific officiating screwed Auburn on that.
