what’s going to kill the ACC is the amount of money colleges have to spend to go play some teams

The PAC-12 is proof you can lose all your programs and still not collapse. You just reload. The question is when do Clempus and FSPoo leave.

The PAC reloaded, sure, but they are nowhere near their former glory. When I say collapse, I say in the sense that enough damage would be done to the conferences image that they are no longer a Power conference. The PAC reloaded, but are they a power conference?

They also kept the money from the previous TV deal which made it easier to get teams. They also kept 2 teams that in previous seasons were competitive. The ACC could very well pull a big east or WAC. Which weren’t able to rebuild football.

The ACC isn’t even currently a power conference then so your question is fucked from the start

Are we doing Power 2 or Power 4? If we’re doing Power 2, how would you classify the Big XII and ACC? G6? Something else? Regardless of how you classify FBS conferences, It’s safe to assume that a departure of a program from the ACC will more firmly put the conference in the same level discussion as the PAC or even the American. For me, that’d be a collapse.

Group of 8. Or maybe Middle 2 since they and the Big 12 are clearly a rung higher than the rest, but obviously below the Power 2. I’d keep them there even if Clempus, FSU and Miami all leave. Programs like SMU and UNC still have more potential than the Pac will ever have.
