It’s worth noting that last month, NC State (home of the first academic nuclear reactor) released details about planned construction of a new reactor that will put them back in 1st.

Also, in the interim, they’re about to up the output of the current reactor to 2 MW, which would tie for 4th until the new one is done.

Mizzou is also planning on building a new reactor coincidentally. The new reactor will be 20 mega-watts
