Maybe an unpopular opinion: I think there’s going to be a major technical crisis in ~10 years. As companies phase out entry level roles (needing 6 years experience for level 1 is insane), and seniors/exec start to retire, people won’t have the skills

Literally what I’ve been thinking, every time I’m job hunting the only things I see are for senior/executive roles…. But I’m a few years there’s not going to be many left to climb that latter

Yes, look what’s happening with manufacturing and semiconductors. We let it all go to Asia and realized we still need it domestically but it will take decades to build up the supply chain and more importantly the talent and knowledge. Ironically immigration would help bring some of that here, but the current administration thinks you can just tariff out of this hole that we’ve been digging for decades.
