How can I ignite my passion for CS ? I’m in my third year and it’s really hard for me to enjoy what I’m doing. I’m just doing it because atp, It’s kinda too late to back out. Are you guys genuinely passionate about it ?

Agreed. I don’t want to offload all of my work onto AI but that’s all my professors are pushing and it makes me want to avoid it even more.

Junior year is when shit basically starts hitting the fan. If you can, find the time start working on some personal projects. Cuz most CS programs run an independent study your senior year that’s a “senior project” I promise there’s still lots of fun stuff you’re passionate about you’ve forgotten while you got stuck working code problems. Go develop a Unity game for 6 months. If you can show it off and explain it, that’s your resume foundation.

Im very passionate about application security but my major is cybersecurity and it pretty much never touches on app sec. Thats j how it is sometimes. You are probably passionate about something in cs but theres a chance your classes wont cover it.

Agreed. Personal projects are where I found my passion for CS, not just coursework

I get it. It’s supposed to be a tool to assist with menial tasks while coding… but that’s the whole point of being in college, learning how to do the nitty gritty things and LEARN, not offload our brain
