Hot take: If you made over 100 applications and still nothing then maybe it might be you rather than the market. Let’s hope you not doin cs just for the money.

I have a 3.8, 3 internships, personal projects, president of a volunteer CS club, senior design with a Fortune 500 company. Still took over 300 applications and I consider that on the low end. The market is very competitive right now and there’s a lot more luck involved than you might think.

Also basic market statistics confirm that it is in fact the market. I took me 2-300 applications to get 2 interviews with a 4.0, research, and internships. Got an offer from one of those thankfully. It’s tough right now- don’t invalidate genuinely capable people’s experiences because you got lucky.

Yes, I am doing cs just for the money. Like 90% of people who get into a career. I don’t know why people think cs is some special exception where you’re not a real engineer if you don’t love it.

Woah. Where are you applying if you don’t mind me asking cause with all of that on your resume you should be getting something?

everywhere 😭 admittedly i did get interviews but those positions closed before i got to final round. and my applying has slowed considerably because i’ve resigned myself to going to grad school instead of straight to work force. but i have a lot of classmates with similar resumes that are also struggling. the people i know with jobs either got return offers from their internships (none of mine were hiring) or they had a direct connection to the company. the market is inarguably bad
