Hoping that my 1 year of working as an underpaid IT tech will finally land me a SWE job. And this is 1 year since graduating too

That’s interesting, so they counted your 1 year of it experience as experience? Because I’m thinking of doing the same. Doing help desk and setting if they can help me get a swe job

Basically I was already working at the school as the IT assistant, and they asked me early this year if I wanted to teach their new program. They were most impressed I had a CS degree. They have a program where they'll hire new teachers as long as you have a college degree, and you can work on getting certified on the job. I guess they counted the 1 yr as experience, but it's mostly proximity. And so far the team has been great

If you wanna get into the education field, I highly recommend going to district job fairs. A lot of them hire on the spot before the job application is up.
