I make less than that and also at least it’s a job. Lots of people aren’t able to get jobs. Even if it’s low for you, it’s actively furthering your career.

My boss that was overseeing my internship got cut in April. Legit had to call his manager and be like “Uhh, what now?” Former boss is squirming cuz the job market is shit (still text him on the side he was chill), manager was like, we kinda forgot about you, don’t get into trouble, check your email for some small work that might come through, and we’ll pay you through the end of it. Was a pretty chill way to end things, but needless to say I wasn’t getting a job from them.

interning in columbus rn, not bad but prolly on the medium-low side. starting in my department is 80k-100k, depending on your actual role (data analyst vs. scientist) / educational history / what can they offer you (not dev, data analytics team). then again, not rural. similar for other departments at the company too (yes, including hr). a job is a job, wear it like a badge of honor. everything is also cheap out here ngl, and that will get u far enough in ohio

if you are looking for a pay hike, try to learn as much as possible and prolly just stay there until jobs in columbus (nationwide, accenture, aep, etc). columbus is way less competitive than other big cities while still having great companies to work for. you would prolly have to move tho and if it’s not feasible all good.
