southern english “fixing to”. as in “i’m fixing to go to the store later”. pretty much exactly the same process that made “going to” into “gonna”

OP I’m not sure what you’re saying , #2 just easily explained it, idk why u got so defensive when I’m just asking how ppl started saying finna 😭 . Especially when you say it’s recognized by linguistics, I’m sure they also care about the etymology and how things came to be. No one here is discrediting aave
