I get that a lot because of my accent. I grew up military, so I kind of have a mix due to where I have lived and my parents. Now my youngest sister gets it more because she straight up looks adopted. People assume she’s Latina but she just has the dark Italian skin with the curly Jewish hair.

I don’t even have an accent at all and English is the only language I speak. I’m not Latin/Hispanic and it’s worse when some people start speaking Spanish to me like bruh I don’t speak Spanish! And many people think I look Latino or Hispanic when I’m not

They do that to my younger sister too. She’s even dating a Columbian which only makes it worse. Her bf’s family was absolutely shocked when they found out she wasn’t Latina and even hated her for a bit (and still somewhat) because of it. She’s been mistaken for Latina since she was an infant and people actually thought my dad’s buddy was her father at a party since their skin was similar in color. She’s very much not.
