maybe you’re already aware of this, but tbc, that kink is definitely a Response to the cultural shift backwards towards systemic misogyny & traditional gender norms rather than being a contributing factor itself as in, women romanticize / eroticize that stuff as a form of trauma response & a (mostly unconscious) means of coping with the society they exist in, it’s not like they’re just autonomously choosing victimhood in a world that offers them plenty of equally-accessible paths to liberation
