actual Latinos would raise an eyebrow lmao. Brazilians are technically Latino too but I don’t really hear them call themselves Latino. Probs cuz neither Brazil or Haiti speak Spanish

But in reality, you are. Nothing wrong with it, if you want to go by Haitian nothing wrong with that either. Spain speak Spanish and they’re European.

Literally, Haitians were colonized by the French and the main languages spoken in Haiti are French and Haitian Creole. I’m Haitian and I have never even thought to refer to myself as Latina and only ever had one person try to convince me that being Haitian means I am. If anything all the Haitians I’ve known including myself see themselves as just Caribbean

Not really. “Latino” is a cultural identity tied to Latin American societies, and in real world usage it mostly refers to Spanish or Portuguese influenced cultures. Haiti was French colonized and has its own distinct Afro-Caribbean history, language, and identity, hence why most Haitians don’t identify as Latino. You can stretch the definition based on the Latin derived language, but culturally and socially that’s not how the term is actually used
