i just wanna be able to use PTO on my terms considering i’m the one earning them 🙄 god it’s so annoying. this is my first “big girl job” and before this i worked at walmart where u saved enough PPTO to leave early every single friday and they couldn’t say anything about it. now i feel like i’m in prison and my every move is being determined by someone else

Fucking same. I was previously a pre school teacher for like 6 years (worked my way through college and had to take care of my sick parents after I graduated) and am off to get my career job. But that job was “salary” with pto. If we didn’t use the pto day it got paid out at the end of the year as $35 a day. AND ofc I couldn’t really ever use it bc I could never get a sub

Correct Thank god I’m going into state government with amazing health plans and retirement pension bc I cannot deal with privatized corporate America without benefits

that’s so funny bc i work state government now 😅 i’m honestly just mad about the PTO (they prefer we keep at least 40 hrs at all times). but honestly the other benefits aren’t bad at all. it’s definitely a plus
