Confessions on Yik Yak | genuine question: im a server and have some tables come in regularly that can hardly speak english. i know a good bit of spanish, but im always scared they’ll take offense to me switching over to (broken) spanish instead. am i overthinking it?

Anyone who doesn’t know English and u try to barely speak their language they will love you. I used to work at Starbucks and I picked up the barebones of Spanish and Korean and both demographics glazed tf outta me

You’re definitely overthinking. Most Spanish speakers who struggle with English will most definitely appreciate you trying to help. My family is one of these ppl and I’ve never once not throughly appreciated someone trying to help

As a Spanish speaking I swear they might even hype you up and get excited over it. It’s nice to see someone try.
