Reminding everyone again. Having a disabled child is not a pass to let them be violent towards workers at an establishment. As their parent and guardian it’s your job to step in and not let them hurt anyone. Why do so many moms not understand that?

In my case it was a child with severe autism that violently grabbed my uniform, pulled my hair and slapped me in the face while the mom stood there and did nothing. Gave me a look like “you better not say shit” I have autism too, prone to panic attacks and don’t like being touched. Technically I could call the cops for assault. But of course she called corporate on me when I told her I wasn’t ok with her kid touching me.

I remember having a Saturday job at a restaurant & I walked up to this table and couldn’t hide the way my jaw dropped bc the kid had covered the entire table in crayon and squirted the ketchup and mustard all up the window next to them & food smeared all over the chairs/thrown all over the floor & all they did was laugh and say “if you think this is bad, you should see what he’s like at home!”

Eventually. They did this a few times before my Manager agreed on banning them though.🥲 They didn’t even get banned for making mess but bc the kid was riding up and down between tables in his heelys and hit one of the waiters who’d just come back after an op on his back and they refused to stop him.

We gotta remind people that the law only protects reasonable accommodations and literal battery is not reasonable
