Super unpopular opinion, but I don’t think I really care to travel out of the country. Social media made me feel like I should but tbh I’m happy where I’m at. Will I ever do it? Likely. But it’s def not high on my list of life goals idc🤷‍♀️

It’s better if you go with someone that’s special, I did both and doing it alone is yeah but uhhh, so much more memorable. Like you can meet people but there’s always a touch of sketchy

As someone who had been all over the world in my opinion international travel should be a priority so you can experience what places are REALLY like. The media lies.

I agree with your take. I rather build myself and my life up everyday in our regular lives than waste it all in a lavish 2 week vacation. And like you said, may be someday but right now it isn’t a priority for me either.

I think it’s just a more immersive form of escapism. That’s from someone who loves traveling and hates being home because there’s problems there waiting for me. I’d rather be deployed for 6 months to some dessert than be home with my wife.

I mean, I’ve always told myself that if/when I decide to do so, my rule for traveling to any country would always be to actually visit a little more inland (safely of course) and experience the true culture of the location, not just the resorts. But still, not a priority of mine at the moment. More concerned with getting finances in order and building something for myself, all while enjoying myself right at home. Once I’m feeling stable enough and only then, will I expand my horizons lol

This is a great mindset which I wish I had in my younger days. But yes, you have it completely right

That’s another thing lol. The planning of the who, what, when, where and how that goes into it😩. And I’m not about to leave the country with just anybody, but I don’t think I would want to travel alone for my first time either. So I dunno for me there’s just a lot more thought that goes into it than I think people realize or don’t care to think about for their own set of reasons

Thank you! Yeah no I’m definitely not anti travel or anything, it just more of matter of “when it’s the right time for me personally” you know? Especially cause I feel like social media has a habit of sweeping under you and romanticizing the aesthetics of it without showing the behind the scenes of the “how” part. But yeah once I’m in a solid position, I have a lot of places in mind that I’m curious to explore! Just want to be truly prepared is all
