And I say college because look at your check, do you make enough to put at least $200 out your check to start a college fund? Can you do that every single month with no stress? You will never have to dip into it. You have an emergency savings you can also build. So if emergencies do occur that emergency savings is where you come out of not the child’s college fund. If you can’t, do not have kids.

Yep, if you can’t afford a college fund or a savings for your child to have when they get older, don’t have kids.

Y’all be creating generational trauma instead of generational wealth. You guys don’t realize what you do impacts your kids. They can’t join sports or clubs because you can’t afford it, so they miss out on opportunities to grow. They miss out on opportunities to earn scholarships and full rides. Their intelligence is stunted simply because they can’t focus on school work and being a kid. They have to worry about if they’re going to eat tonight. If they’re going to have a roof.

If they’re going to have to move again and start all over again. They have to worry about if they’re going to have running water to shower. They have to deal with kids picking on them. All of that is your fault. Yelling at your kid and reminding them of the “sacrifices you had to make” only makes them feel guilty and like they’re a mistake. It’s not their responsibility to figure out rent, food, and basic necessities. That’s your job.

Well then, don’t have kids if 50% of Americans can’t afford children. Well, 50% of Americans shouldn’t be having kids. Children thrive in stable, loving, healthy environments. They need family, care, 1-on-1 time. They need patience and support. Not a house full of chaos and worrying about adult things.

If you love your kids, you wouldn’t raise them in poverty. If you care about your kids, you wouldn’t put them in a chaotic environment. If you support your kids, you’ll make sure they have everything they need to grow. You’ll show up to their events, you’ll let them join anything they want with no hesitation. You won’t tell them they can’t do it because you can’t afford it because you don’t have the time.
