1. your teeth demineralize when they’re in an acidic state. this happens when you vomit, eat, or drink anything that isn’t water. food is acidic, so is saliva. 2. after eating or drinking anything that isn’t water to neutralize the acid in your mouth you can swish with water or preferably water mixed with a healthy pinch of baking soda. bobs red mill is the best brand hands down.
3. never brush your teeth within 30 minutes of eating or vomiting, the acidic state means you’ll brush away your soft enamel. 4. never sip on anything that isn’t water, drink it quickly. even carbonated water is acidic 5. plaque turns to tartar in as little as 24-48 hours. disrupting this plaque biofilm is why brushing is extremely important. you can brush without toothpaste but you cannot wait more than 2 days to brush. not brushing this plaque can also lead to heart attacks.
