and i have easy tips to help strengthen your teeth if anyone wants them. it’s just about understanding how and when your teeth demineralize and remineralize. your bones are live tissue

1. your teeth demineralize when they’re in an acidic state. this happens when you vomit, eat, or drink anything that isn’t water. food is acidic, so is saliva. 2. after eating or drinking anything that isn’t water to neutralize the acid in your mouth you can swish with water or preferably water mixed with a healthy pinch of baking soda. bobs red mill is the best brand hands down.

3. never brush your teeth within 30 minutes of eating or vomiting, the acidic state means you’ll brush away your soft enamel. 4. never sip on anything that isn’t water, drink it quickly. even carbonated water is acidic 5. plaque turns to tartar in as little as 24-48 hours. disrupting this plaque biofilm is why brushing is extremely important. you can brush without toothpaste but you cannot wait more than 2 days to brush. not brushing this plaque can also lead to heart attacks.

6. once the plaque turns to tartar you need metal tools to remove it from your teeth. it’s like cement 7. brush at a 45 degree angle towards the gums to get under the gumline 8. electric toothbrush is the best but anything you’ll use is good. you can get whole mouth brushes on amazon that basically brush for you. there’s also 3 sided toothbrushes. you don’t need toothpaste it’s optional but brushing isn’t

all of these things are expensive, time consuming, and annoying but they do not compare to the sensory hell and the cost of the dental work you’ll need if you don’t do these

9. ONLY use extra soft or soft toothbrushes. medium or harder will wear away your teeth and gums 10. brush gently, electric toothbrushes have pressure sensors that help. for the same reason as #8 11. flossing is important to prevent gum disease so if you can’t commit to flossing daily invest in a waterpik 12. most floss is made out of plastic and coated in pfas so get an alternative like cocofloss 13. don’t kiss people who don’t brush and floss

I used to hate my smile, had debilitating mental health issues so I didn’t brush my teeth really and I have a gap tooth so I always hated my mouth and smile but it’s become something that I’ve gotten compliments on and I genuinely have learned to love it. So so proud of you gang

i’m an autistic woman who likes learning and sharing helpful things and hates wasting time and effort, sometimes just to make things even worse. like why tf are they selling toothbrushes that can ruin your teeth? knowledge is autonomy
