as someone studying to be one: one thousand percent agree. Idk abt all states but ik a lot stopped caring abt actual certifications and just started hiring anyone with a GAD. it’s sad because those ppl only care abt the paycheck and not about teaching and growing young minds.

i was tutoring a kindergartner and taught him a method to help him understand math that aligned with his learning style and when he moved to 1st grade, his teacher told him he wasn’t allowed to use said tool (it was literally just making a visual) because it was “little kid stuff and he’s a big boy now” complete bs dude
