I put volunteering in between my gaps in employment and plugged the job listing into chat GPT to make it generate a list of “responsibilities” for each job that align with the position even if it wasn’t accurate I also added relevant clubs and stuff I didn’t do on my resume and talked about them in the cover letter to make up for limited job experience

If you really want to you can also lie about the job duration but it’s more verifiable so there’s a chance they’ll actually check with a background check. But if you are really desperate tbh there’s nothing to lose, the worse they can do is reject you and at least you tried
