Because religion is one of those sensitive topics to avoid. Some people prefer to not discuss it at all and avoid any potential conflict

i would still call myself a Christian because i do believe in Christ but i also have deep issues with some of the things i was taught growing up and i believe passionately in the importance of rationality and intellectual curiosity. i really don’t think you will offend me because even if you were gonna judge me i could honestly understand how a person could feel judgy of Christians rn. my DMs are open if you think you wanna ask questions.

Asking questions is never something to be ashamed of or to be offended by, as long as you are doing so respectfully and sincerely (which I’m assuming you are) and if someone gets upset with you, chances are they didn’t have the answer
