There’s not really any leverage by keeping them or doing anything to them. No country is gonna do anything if they’re taken hostage (because frankly nobody (especially any government) cares, that’s just the reality of the situation not tryna be mean), and if they keep them there’s not really any point in treating them badly. It’d be a waste of resources to keep them. It might sound like I’m dehumanizing the group that got taken, but I’m just using the lens of a government. Dehumanizing people
