Why would a loving god strand the majority of his followers in a time where his miracles seem to appear less and less as we create better ways of remembering and recording history? I believe in Jesus’ sacrifice on a human level, and morality is a useful tool to keep society running but I can’t play Pascal’s wager with thousands of different religions and denominations. I see god as an anthropomorphization of what we consider good and bad in the universe and I can’t see it as anything else
I hate acting like an r/atheism loser because I appreciate peoples beliefs but I like debating it more. I also hold that atheism is a religion. If god is all good, all knowing, and all powerful, why would he give us free will? It’s not a test, and if it is then God already knows whats going to happen and everything is predetermined already and none of our choices are truly our own. They’re his. My success or failure is entirely out of my hands, and that doesn’t sit right with me.
