Depending on an algorithm for your happiness is just sad lmao

sometimes you need someone to rant to who won’t make you feel like garbage or unworthy for feeling a certain way. i don’t blame people if they’re desperate. it’s just more sad if anything that they feel they have to resort to using ai because they don’t have a safe outlet. at the end of the day we need more accessible options for people to get real help.

Some of us don’t have health insurance and we’re not in a position to pay for sessions. Healthcare is expensive

girly pop it doesn’t even help you, it just tells you what you want to hear. i understand that not everyone can afford therapy but telling your personal information to an algorithm that doesn’t say what they do with that data is crazy.

AI has its uses but creative fields and therapy are not it

You clearly aren’t aware of just how much more it adds to the mess we are already in. Pouring gasoline onto a pyre won’t put out the flames.

AI's impact individually is minuscule compared to others

Even if you believe individual uses have a small impact, you have to remember that it’s countless individual uses adding up together, and the energy demand for generative AI is much higher than a standard google search. Real living people are being affected by the consequences

"accused of" doesn't equal fact. Also most people here are using ChatGPT, not other AI services https://andymasley.substack.com/p/individual-ai-use-is-not-bad-for

In this case it is factual, Memphis residents have been speaking out about it. A very large amount of people use X AI, just because people mention GPT more often on this app doesn’t mean it’s the only existing model

OP has a valid point about GPT just telling people what they want to hear. It also gets facts wrong and fails to emphasize what needs to be emphasized when summarizing information and I think it needs regulation. But most of the environmental concerns aren't put into context and are just misleading
