i loved him so much but it just caused me unnecessary stress and i think i would’ve felt more secure and less judged with someone that looks like me, it’s draining as hell

i’m black and my boyfriend is white and what other people think is the least of my worries focusing on your individual lives and how yall can grow together is the most important thing i’m sorry that you’ve faced a lot of stress regarding that but i don’t think you should throw away something that means a lot to you (also black woman/white male marriages divorce way less often than any other race couples ;) )

Not trying to defend your ex, I don’t know the specifics but the last time I dated a black girl I felt a little uncomfortable bringing up those topics since it felt like I didn’t really have any room to say anything about and could only offer sympathy.
