I got drunk, did not wear a condom, got a girl I had been dating for 2 weeks pregnant, she did not want to abort, I refuse to allow my child to not have a father, she said "Either marry me or get out of my life" ...

I refused. I did not marry her. Right now I pay for our rent and got her to apply for and get into nursing school. I'm helping her study through nursing, and I'll help her get a job. Then I'm leaving. Our daughter is beautiful and healthy, and I love her. I don't want my life to be over because of this, but I worry it will be hard for me to actually find love someday.

I'm mot leaving our daughter btw. Just plan to leave my partner in her own space to live her own life (after she can actually pay for it on her own)

My hope is that we'll be able to co-parent as peacefully as we can manage

It's painful, I wanted to blame other things at first (alcohol, her, the church, god...) It's just me. It's my fault. And I am the only one who can control my actions and make it worse, or make it better. Hey I have a healthy kid, some people pay millions to make that happen! She is beautiful, I love her, and I loon forward to putting her to bed and reading to her every night. My heart aches because I wish I was in love with my partner but I am not.

I think it is very honorable that you stayed with your daughter and love her, but she deserves a healthy home. You gave to talk to your partner so you can both move on and find happiness

Agreed. Unfortunately money is needed for survival, and I want my daughter's mom to be a good financially independent example for my daughter. That is why I'm not leaving until my partner gets through nursing school and gets a job. She needs to not need me
