Have you noticed that mental illness seems to be rising? They wear it like some twisted badge of honor.

Well maybe if you stopped spending so much time being negative you’d realize that therapy is a good thing and maybe need some instead of demonizing thoes who actually seek help and only giving them more reason to be depressed or other have mental illness

Mental illness isn’t rising, the amount of diagnoses is because we’ve gotten better at diagnosing stuff.

i have bipolar, i talk about it mainly because it helps the people around me when it comes to interactions, primarily because i can be a very intense energy to be around depending on my mood, so it comes down to the awareness side of things

Idk anyone that wears their mental illness like a badge of honor. Sure sometimes I have to let people in close to know about it but I always try to keep it hidden as I don’t want to be judged for having it. I’m just like you I just struggle getting out of bed some days.

Mental illness is an objectively bad thing that many people suffer from. Sure therapy works for some but not all. Correct me if I’m wrong but i think ops point was that people share info with everyone like they are their therapist. Also, if seeing things online is making you depressed/mentally ill maybe you should not be online or consider limiting screen time?

While at college i met a lot of women who flippantly mention their bpd or their bipolar or gender dysphoric. Very strange behavior

BPD and Bipolar are both something that typically affects people day to day that’s why it’s often mentioned to people that we hang out with on a regular

Exactly! I have BPD so I always just warn those closest to me because my emotions can be intense and I often wear everything on my sleeves. It’s not like I’m trying to brag about it, just let people be aware of it in case it could affect my friendships and relationships
