Yeah, the way you said it came off rude. Sometimes we have to learn how to filter our thoughts a bit. It's direct which isn't bad but it a family setting you should filter it a bit and just smile and say, "I've been looking but haven't found anyone who meet my standards." Then wink at her.

You're just an honest person. There's nothing wrong with that. In your case because you are so honest sometimes it's best just to say the minimum because some people can't handle the truth.
