Honestly, that’s a fair question. Forgiveness is always available but you still have to accept it. Hell isn't God refusing to forgive, it's a person refusing to be forgiven. And God is life and goodness itself. Being separated from that is hell, not as a punishment imposed on you but as the natural result of walking away from the source of everything good. It's not really "obey or suffer," it's more like "the fire is here, you can always come back to it."
