I think it’s stupid when a guy replies something along the lines of ‘those are boys, men don’t do that’, its like a replacement for not all men

i hate when people do this too bc yeah. both situations are wrong. but you only said this so you could deflect from what the post was talking about

I’m not deflecting. I’m calling out the double standard. People do this, not just men and not just women. It’s a human thing, not a gender thing Op gendered the issue, so I gendered it too. Simple as that

she never said women don’t do it, she’s just pointing out a specific example. if you made your point and then connected them in any meaningful way (or at least acknowledging that men do it a lot more than women) this would be a different convo. but you didn’t. and now we’re talking about this instead of the actual post

My point was meaningful. Op was talking about how guys do it I was talking about how girls do it too That’s how I added to the conversation. Now we can talk about how everyone does it instead of just hyper fixating on one gender which honestly brings nothing of substance to the convo

okay so do you want to talk specifically about how men use that as a replacement for not all men as a way to deflect from their own bad behavior? or do you want to keep pretending like it’s an equal problem among women too

Lmfaoooo and there’s the zinger. You’re just mad that I’m calling out men & women when YOU want to make this exclusively an issue towards men.

…because that was the issue that was brought up. just bc both genders do it we can’t ever focus on just one now?

if you want to talk about women doing this, make your own post. but it’s fine to focus on a specific part of a issue even if that makes men upset

Correct that was the issue that was brought up and in a healthy dialogue I’m allowed to add to said issue by bringing up other kisses that relate to it. Notice how I never denied that men do it. I simply said women do it too and therefore we can look at it as a human issue and not a gender issue (:

right but there’s still a gendered aspect to it. men and women both do it but i doubt they do it in exactly the same way for exactly the same reason - plus there’s already a whole ‘boys will be boys’ attitude that women don’t have when it comes to this thing. it’s still worth it to point out specific examples of how each gender does this. it’s a little disingenuous to act like you’re adding to the topic when you’ve just completely derailed it into something else by refusing to acknowledge that

there are still differences in how each gender does this specific action

lol just no “Boys will be boys” is the male equivalent of “I’m just a girl” Idk who hurt you in life to the point where you feel the need to personally attack a whole gender and get super defensive when your own gender is scrutinized but it’s not a healthy way to live at all and I hope you can heal from it one day to have a clearer mind and view of this beautiful world

oh my god? i literally agreed both genders do it, im just pointing out there are different societal explanations for them 😭 so much for a healthy dialogue if you can’t even acknowledge that

There aren’t different societal explanations though lol that’s the whole point. Men and women do the exact same thing therefore it’s not a gender or even social issue. It’s a human issue and a blanket cultural issue amongst the human race. There can’t be a healthy dialogue if at every point you try to exclusively diminish the value of men and prop up the value of women when, again, it shouldn’t even be a man vs woman thing in the first place

I’m not going to reply to everything you said, but it is just ridiculous to act like men and women violate each other at similar rates. When the conversation is about men and their behavior, it is regressive to bring up instances of women trespassing because they are never on the same scale. And highlighting the issue of men is not to say they are worth less, but to challenge how they devalue women by their actions and mentality.
