Yeah. I'm like 'over' them, but they've deeply woven themselves into the wiring of my brain. They still heavily affect near every aspect of my life. And its been 7 years 🥲

It’s like a scar, it heals and doesn’t hurt over time but you will always remember it unfortunately. I use that as motivation to help others and ensure they don’t feel alone, and that they will survive.

I’m still hesitant with men which is why I have so few friends that are male and the ones I do I some how have crushes on them (which I know isn’t real or sustainable - idk it’s weird)

you will most likely one day know that they happened and learn to block them out or suppress them but there will always be a part of you that remembers them, i still have nightmares about it but i don’t let anyone know

It's because our brains had to rewire themselves for survival! To be on alert for 'predators', to want to keep yourself safe and alive. They've gained faulty pattern recognition. And they're now trained to be wary around perceived patterns or omens or threats. I ended up stumbling into alcoholism for a few years to free myself of all that, but that was a horrible move 😭 now I'm stunted right back where I was a few years ago
