I’m 19 dating someone who is 23 not as weird as it seems. If the connection is there and everyone is mature about things the age difference feels like nothing

Same here. It’d be weird if I was fresh 18, but to be real, if that’s weird then so are the 30 year olds with 40 year olds, at one point they were in the same boat, especially if married for a while. It’s just seen as weird because it’s nineTEEN which puts a stigma around it as it makes it sound bad. We are all consenting adults so it isn’t really that bad imo unless it was someone fresh 18 dating someone mid twenties and up. There are people with a 15+ year age gap, like my grandparents.

This was meant to include both of y’all in my reply since I feel it’s a valid perception to bring up.

Yeah I’m basically almost 20 and he’s about to turn 23 in a month. It’s a 4 year gap. My older brother is 36 dating 28. It really depends on the person if they are comfortable with a gap. I truly thought dating someone over a two year age gap was weird till I met him. Sometimes a connection just happens and as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult I don’t see an issue I mean celebrities are 77 and dating 30 year olds I think it’s fine

That math isn’t mathing 💀 if you are basically 20 and he’s basically 23 then that’s a 3 year gap, not 4.

He was born late 2002 I was born early 2006 so it’s a 4 year gap but it will always look like 3

That’s not- that makes it 3 years and a few months, which is closer to 3 years than 4. If you are going to round your age gap, you would round down because it’s not halfway or above (like 3 1/2 years or more would get rounded to 4 but anything below that would be rounded to 3).

It’s not extremely important in this case, it’s kind of semantics, but knowing how to round is very relevant in life so I felt the need to clarify.
